We are pleased to introduce you French Versailles Manufacture portico clock in black marble of ancient temple form decorated with d’ore bronze (gilt, ormolu) overlays. The well crafted marble body applied with high quality fire/mercury gilt original bronze details of floral reeds and and bas-reliefs of female heads. Square black marble columns, rise up to a triangular marble tympanum. The dial, of fine perfect convex enamel signed "Versailles Manufacture" is set within a fine gilded bronze bezel with acanthus leaf decoration. Top quality and very rare clock produced by “Royal manufacture of exceptional works in Versailles”. Antique French portico mantel (desk, shelf) clock, black stone and gilt bronze, early 19th century in Empire style.
Size app.: 41 cm (roughly 16.1 in) high, 24.3 cm (roughly 9.6 in) wide, 12 cm (roughly 4.7 in) deep. Pretty good condition with damage to dial and usage wear, pendulum link broken (needs repairs), while movement works well. Clock works and strikes however I don’t guarantee accuracy as the pendulum-movement link is broken. Please study high-res pictures for cosmetic condition! In person actual item may appear darker or brighter than in our pictures, strictly depending on sufficient light in your environment.
