Description

Decorated with floral ornament in best traditions of neoclassicism this handy pocket box made in Moscow in 1840 by master "F. M." The grooves on the silver surface were cut by hand with a chisel (engraving) and subsequently covered with black enamel or inked with special compositions. This jewelry technique was very popular in Russia.
Size app.: 8,5 cm (roughly 3.4 in) long. Very good condition, wear, rubbing to niello. Please study high-res pictures for cosmetic condition! In person actual painting may appear darker or brighter than in our pictures, strictly depending on sufficient light in your environment. Weight is 118 gr it is going to measure some 0.25 kg of volume packed for shipment.
