This beautiful tiny Neoclassical (Empire) chocolate or coffee pot. Magnificent piece of jewelry art late 18th century - early 19th century. Made by world famous jewelry workshop - Buch. Completely handmade, with amazing silver casting, chasing and engraving quality. It was acquired by us from the heirs in one of the Swedish estates. This chocolate or coffee pot will become one of the gems of your home collection.
Size app.: 16 cm (roughly 6,3 in) high, 16 cm (roughly 6.3 in) wide with handle. Solid weight of 293 grams (0,645 ib). Good condition, usage wear, need to repair one leg (see pictures). Biography: Buch Ivar Venfeld (1749 - 1811), jeweler. Son of the Danish goldsmith Didrich Buch, in the early 18th century. moved to Norway. He studied with his brothers in the workshop of his father. Since 1776 - gold and silver master in the foreign workshop of St. Petersburg. He often carried out orders for the Imperial House of Russia and other high-ranking nobles. A distinctive feature of his works of art was a stamp "BUCH" in a rectangle. Works: floor lamps, consoles, two tables, chandeliers in - Hermitage (St. Petersburg, Russia); golden church vessels with cameos - State Armory Chamber (Moscow, Russia).
