Daniel Arvid Böhlmark , born April 10, 1841 in Järna parish , died June 28, 1897 in Stockholm , was a Swedish business leader. Arvid Böhlmark was the son of Commission surveyor Daniel Anton Böhlmark. He was 1859-1863 mill bookkeeper at Lickanå mill in Värmland, moved to Stockholm in 1864 and became a trading agent for Liljeholmen's candle factory . In 1872, Böhlmark opened a store selling kerosene lamps. In 1886 he bought the property Högbergsgatan 21 on Södermalm and started his own production of kerosene lamps as the first in Sweden. Around 1890, he made contact with CW Nyström at Pukeberg glassworks and after study trips to Saxony and Bohemia, the glassworks began producing lamp glass and cups for the lamp factory. Since Böhlmark's lamp factory in 1894 became the owner of the glassworks, the focus on lamp glass became even stronger. When electric light began to displace the kerosene lamps, Böhlmarks came to specialize in electric luminaires and soon became one of the most prominent manufacturers in Sweden. Böhlmark was also a member of the Stockholm City Council in 1893-1897. After his death, the company was transformed into a limited company.
