The 19th century bore witness to an artistic renaissance of classical forms. Among the finest examples of this era's creativity are the ormolu (mercury) gilt bronze candelabra, which not only serve as functional objects but also stand as testament to the high craftsmanship of their creator (there is 3-letter mark at verso of base looks like “P&R”). The intricate chasing and ornamentation demonstrate the master’s commitment to the perfection of the compositional forms. The use of mercury gilding enhances the depth of colour, creating a radiant reflection of light. The elegant architectural elements of the candelabra (4 candleholders each) - characterized by graceful lines and harmonious proportions—transcend mere functionality, transforming it into an ornamental centerpiece that invokes admiration.
