Gorgeous timepiece in Louis XVI style, France, mid 19th century. By Louis Japy Fils, also marked E. & Cie. Gilt brass and bronze. Decorated with the muse of art, flower garlands and vines rendered with exceptional detail, enhance the overall elegance of the clock, inviting admiration for the skill involved in its creation. Enamel dial with Roman numerals, standing on a base of carved wood with gilt gesso.
