Sven Linnborg, was a National Romantic easel and church painter. Linnborg lived an itinerant life, frequently hired to decorate Jämtland churches and depict the possessions of Norrland forest patrons. He liked to paint landscape motifs with mountains and lakes. In the 1910s, he developed a stylized national romantic, decorative style, perhaps inspired by Carl Larsson and by his assignments as a church decorator. Characteristic are his peach-colored clouds and sunsets. He received his academic education at the Technical School in Stockholm, at the Danish opponents in the Kunsternes Studieskole and at the Académie Julian and the Académie Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
