Sanguina is a wonderful red chalk. It is based on clay, iron oxide and a binder. It has a good level of resistance to solar radiation. When applied to paper, it gives the pattern a “velvet effect”, does not crumble. Pleasant orange-red gamut gives a special warmth and originality for which sanguine is invariably loved by painters.
