Pastoral scene with little livestock and figures of reclining shepherds by town walls, castle or cathedral in background, distant houses and hazed valley - It is a great Italianate capriccio example of the baroque period, showcasing the artist's skill. Antique oil painting on canvas, unsigned, solid gorgeous 19th century frame.
Size app.: 42.5 x 54 cm (roughly 16.7 x 21.3 in), frame is 72 x 82 cm (roughly 28.3 x 32.3 in). Pretty good condition with numerous restored losses, repairs, retouches.
