Here is pair of unsigned highly decorative and well-prepared Capriccio views of rather Mediterranean scene. Judging by the style and development of the overall scene, most likely the pictures were painted by pupils or followers of Claude Joseph Vernet (1714 – 1789). Both painted on brass or copper panels (last image reveals its nature) presumably in the middle of 18th century Baroque manner.
Size app.: 26,7 x 35 cm (roughly 10,5x 13,8 in) has minimal wear, both well conserved; fine golden frames are contemporary to paintings and are 36,5 x 44,5 cm (roughly 14,4 x 17,5 in). Overall they look great and ready tohang. But anyway, please study good resolution images for cosmetic condition. In person actual painting may appear darker or brighter than in our pictures, strictly depending on sufficient light in your environment. Weight of app. 1,4 kg of each, they going to measure 4 kg packed for shipment.
