In the foreground, on the edge of the forest, we see a father and his two children (a daughter and a son), apparently they brought lunch to their father who is working in the field. In the lower left, in the shade of the trees, two resting horses harnessed for field work are depicted. In the background, we see forests and fields receding into the distance. Overall, this painting embodies the essence of pastoral landscapes: people and nature united in harmonious coexistence. Presumably South Germany, Munich school. We assume that the painting was painted – Paul Weber 1823-1916. Antique oil painting on canvas, unsigned, framed.
Size app.: 39.5 x 50 cm (roughly 15.6 x 19.7 in), frame 51.5 x 62.7 cm (roughly 20.3 x 24.7 in). Overall in very good well preserved condition with age wear, tear repairs (see pictures).
