Type: Religious
This antique religious painting shows a biblical scene depicting Jesus conversing with the Samaritan woman at Jacob's Well near Sychar (John 4:4 - 42). The artist employs a balanced composition with spatial depth and perspective, anchored by two expressive central figures placed on opposite sides of the well. The disciples of Jesus appear in the background to the left, returning from town with provisions, which draws us deeper into the Gospel narrative. The careful details, harmonious colors and gentle tonal gradations reveal an academic and professional approach combining spiritual content with practiced execution.
